We visited Duinresort Dunimar near Noordwijkerhout over Christmas 2025.
The resort is very close to Amsterdam, only a straightforward 45 minute drive (depending on traffic).
So from our point of view very easy to access from the ferry back to Newcastle.
Architecture of Duinresort Dunimar
The site is a collection of 106 low rise bungalows , houses and terraces.
The white painted walls and terracotta roof tiles give the feel of a Mediterranean village. This is in spite of the complex being only recently built in roughly 2020.
What’s in the holiday home?
The beds are very comfortable.
The kitchen is well equipped with a microwave, gas hob and dishwasher. All the cutlery and crockery was in good condition.
The microwave doubles as a grill and convector oven. We had mixed results with the convector oven. I think that may be down to incompetence rather than the oven itself.
Most people survive holidays through either caffeine or alcohol. So the nespresso machine, drip coffee and kettle were all welcome.
The well sized fridge has a small freezer compartment.
Downstairs has a tiled floor which has underfloor heating. This is a first for us and was loved by the kids. Normally a tiled or stone floor is bordering on painful to walk on. This was a pleasure to walk on.
Upstairs has carpet and radiators.
The holiday house was always warm and comfortable downstairs as the underfloor heating heats and cools very slowly. Upstairs cooled down much faster due to the radiators. As soon as the heating was turned back on upstairs heated back up really fast. But most people like a cooler bedroom so that worked perfectly for us.
What was the bathroom like?
The bathroom was downstairs beside the front door. Which was actually a benefit as showers didn’t wake the kids up. It has a shower (no bath), basin and toilet. There is a big mirrored cabinet on the wall with loads of storage for your toiletries.
The tiled floor would normally be like walking on a block of ice. But the underfloor heating makes it feel warm and comfortable. The floor also dries in minutes and never feels damp.
There is no openable window but the vent is really powerful. Even after a very steamy shower the room clears in a few minutes.
Laundry facilities
There is a dedicated laundry room near the main car park.
It has 2 washing machines and 2 tumble driers.
They are accessed by buying time on them through tapping your card.
